The Redeemed Man
The Redeemed Man Podcast features real conversations for real men—honest dialogue that dives into the challenges, doubts, and victories shaping our lives. Hosted by Nate Dewberry, along with Redeemed founder Paul Amos, the podcast brings in voices from all walks of life to explore topics like anxiety, addiction, relationships, leadership, and spiritual growth. As part of The Redeemed’s mission to build a Christ-centered community through authentic connection, meaningful conversations, and shared experiences, each episode offers biblical wisdom and practical encouragement to help men walk with purpose in today’s world.
The Redeemed Man
Are We Praying for God’s Will, or Our Own?
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Prayer is the bedrock of discipleship; ideally, it’s a daily practice that brings us into a closer relationship with God. Yet it still feels daunting to so many of us. Are we praying often enough, and for long enough? Are we having a conversation with God, or just rattling off a list of wishes? Are we bringing our true selves to him, or just putting on a performance?
For this week’s episode, Redeemed founder Paul Amos and ministry director Nate Dewberry christen our new Atlanta podcast studio with an in-depth discussion on prayer, the misconceptions even devout Christ-followers have about it, and what we can do to feel more fulfilled and connected to God in our daily prayer lives. No step-by-step instructions here, because there’s no single “right” way to pray—but there are some thought-provoking suggestions and guidance for ensuring that what’s central to our prayers is not our wishes and desires, but God’s.
